Faith in Our Families Discussion Guidelines
Welcome to our PFLAG Faith in Our Families Christian Discussion circle. This is a conversation for members of the gay, lesbian, transgender, bisexual community and their family and friends and allies.
PFLAG does not endorse any particular faith tradition but the purpose of this circle is to explore personal experience from a Christian perspective. We invite someone to start a group interested in discussing other traditions. Just let us know.
- We will start with a meditation statement; we will listen thoughtfully to each other and share the time
- We will speak to our own traditions and experiences without discounting any other
- We do not offer advice but learn through our stories
- We honor confidentiality. What is said here, stays here
- If you need to leave early, we welcome you to begin
- We are committed to dialogue rather than debate
- If something happens that makes you feel uncomfortable, please let the facilitator know. We are here to create safety and trust
