Dear PFLAG Supporter,
Each year, your contribution helps Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) here in Skagit County provide resources and support to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people and their families and friends in our region and across the state! Our ability to make a difference is limited only by our resources - we need you with us to help strengthen and expand PFLAG's unique programs of support, education and advocacy.
Your support makes it possible for PFLAG to stand up for equality, fairness and justice wherever and whenever they're threatened.
Here are the ways you can help:
A $30.00 individual, $15 Student or low income, or $40 household membership makes you a member of our local chapter. We send $15.00 of that to the National Organization.
Membership in National PFLAG strengthens our voice in powerful ways. Check out the National website for more information about this and sign up for the PFLAGpole. http://www.pflag.org/ National provides support and training for your local leaders including a conference call line that has been essential in the success of chapters in Washington State.
Membership in our chapter increases the likelihood of our receiving grants and having opportunities to collaborate with groups that share our mission to create a safe and welcoming community- including our schools and workplaces.
PFLAG is a solidly grass roots, volunteer program. All your local contribution goes to our mission and 77% of the national funds support program expenses. We have been impressed by the skill and devotion of the people working on our behalf and with their efforts to be a responsive and skillful organization. We are especially proud that PFLAG is inclusive for all people, including our transgender friends.
