Sometimes we all need someone
to talk to about life issues, or just a little support in
times of need. A professional counselor or therapist is a great resource
for working through the many and varied problems we all face in life.
Sessions with counselors and therapists are confidential, non-judgmental,
and individually tailored to clients' needs.
This page lists counselors,
therapists, or agencies known to have some experience working with members
of the GLBT community. We will update this page as we find more providers
in various locations. Listings on this site should not be construed as a
professional referral or endorsement. We are merely listing known
resources which are often hard to find. If you are a provider of
counseling services to GLBT individuals and would like to be listed,
please contact us.
Seattle
Counseling Service
is a community resource that advocates, educates and serves to
advance the social well-being and mental health of the gay, lesbian,
bisexual and transgender communities. We began as a small grassroots
effort in response to the need for a safer community. Founded in 1969, we
were the first peer counseling service of its kind in the United States to
serve the gay and lesbian community. We are currently serving over 750
individuals.
We
are conveniently located in the heart of Capitol Hill on Broadway Avenue,
next to Jack In The Box and across from Dick's Drive-In.
There
are numerous bus routes that run through Broadway Avenue as well. Parking
is available in the back of the building, 2-3 hour parking in the
residential area or metered parking on the streets. Our address
is 112 Broadway Ave East, Seattle WA 98102.
